Angelina Jolie’s first movie role was in Hal Ashby’s “Lookin’ to Get Out” in 1982. Her father, Jon Voight, was also in the movie. Several bad reviews came out after the movie came out. Angelina Jolie’s first movie came out in 1976. Since then, she has been in a lot of great movies. Here is a quick look at Top 5 Angelina Jolie Movies You Should Watch.

Girl, Interrupted (1999)

The movie for which Jolie won her first and only Oscar so far. A strong story that will make you think about how you see the world, at least on a psychological level. The movie is mostly set in the women’s ward of a mental hospital and follows the strong friendship between Jolie’s character Lisa and Winona Ryder’s character Suzanna. Lisa’s sharp observations about people and social irresponsibility make you question your own sense. Some of the angry violence from the famous Jack Nicholson movie “One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest” is in this movie. The movie shows how beautiful and easy redemption can sometimes be a beautiful, talent-driven picture.

Gia (1998)

Angelina Jolie is super hot. And Gia is, if not possible, her hottest part to date. In this HBO biopic, Jolie plays the real supermodel Gia Marie Carangi, who was a supermodel to the max.

But what makes Gia a great star turn for Jolie is that she has to play with many different feelings. Ms. Carangi didn’t have the best life, and between the drugs, the crazy outbursts, and the bad news that she had AIDS, Angelina Jolie showed that she could play any part. Even after all these years, this is still one of her best efforts.

A Mighty Heart (2017)

Even though there was a bit of a stir when white Angelina Jolie was cast as the mixed-race Mariane Pearl, this is probably Ms. Jolie’s second-best performance. The movie feels more like a documentary than anything else. Jolie plays the wife of Wall Street Journal writer Daniel Pearl, who was killed. This movie is great because Jolie plays it straight and doesn’t try to be a star, which makes it even more upsetting and sad. It’s not a fun or interesting movie, but Angelina Jolie makes it work because it’s important.

Changeling (2008)

Clint Eastwood is known for making great movies. This period piece about corruption in the Los Angeles Police Department is beautifully made, and Angelina Jolie performs well. This movie has a great story based on real events that keep you on the edge of your seat until the end. The movie looks very much like it was made in the 1920s and 1930s. The movie is very similar to Eastwood’s “Mystic River” in that it ties together family and community in the fight against organized crime, from abuse of power in the government to violence on the streets. As the radical priest Reverend Briegleb, John Malkovich also does a good job in the movie. A hard-to-watch movie about hard-hitting problems and a scary search for the truth.

Maleficent (2014)

Most of Hollywood’s biggest stars have been in at least one Disney film. Angelina Jolie is amazing and gives Disney baddies (or anti-heroes) a new depth with her performance. Even though the movie is meant to be a version of “Sleeping Beauty,” it is different enough from the original story that it can’t be directly compared to it. At times, the CGI reminds me of “Pan’s Labyrinth,” and the setting pulls you into the world where the movie takes place. This movie is about the personal, inner journey to heal from physical pain and emotional abuse by people close to you whom you trust the most—one of the few Disney movies that feel more like real life than most fairy tales.
